about the LOCATION
SAM Rainmaker '25 will be held at the University of West Georgia-Newnan, located near the heart of historic downtown Newnan, Georgia (Coweta County). The location couldn't be more ideal—just 30 minutes south of Atlanta off of Interstate 85. Coweta County has served as the backdrop for all kinds of well-known productions, including The Walking Dead, Fried Green Tomatoes, Footloose, Sweet Home Alabama, Zombieland and The Hunger Games film series (tours available). You can also enjoy a plethora of local culinary delights, microbrews, original libations and delectable desserts. Smells included for free. Save time for shopping for antiques and treasures in the historic downtown area and the outdoor mall, Ashley Park. And make sure to visit the Chattahoochee Bend State Park, where you can camp, fish, picnic and hike 12 miles of wooded trails. From pastoral farms and the beautiful Chattahoochee River to idyllic Main Streets and boundless shopping, Newnan has many reasons to visit.
